Visit EAA at the WAI Conference in Reno
February 24, 2011 —The 22nd annual Women in Aviation International Conference kicked off Thursday in Reno, Nevada, and EAA is there supporting the continued growth in the numbers of women aviators. You’ll find EAA staff and volunteers in Booth 602, sharing information on EAA membership, programs like Young Eagles and Women Soar, and EAA AirVenture.
“Our goal is to encourage women to get engaged as members of EAA, as volunteers in Women Soar, and perhaps as mentors for this very important program designed to share opportunities in aviation with aspiring young achievers,” said Elissa Lines, EAA vice president of development.
WomenSoar will bring 100 teen girls together to meet with women who have achieved success in aviation/aerospace careers and with each other in hopes of building a support network to help girls pursue their dreams.
At the conference EAA will also promote participation in the WomenVenture programs and photo opportunity at AirVenture. This event has served to inspire women who are already pilots to reach out and engage friends and other women in aviation. A large poster of last year’s photo is available in the booth for women to sign.
The conference runs through Saturday, February 26. For more information, click here.
