Storage Unit Nears Completion at Virginia Festival of Flight

Windows and a stoop were added to side of the storage container.

The container was set in place on concrete piers at Suffolk Airport.
March 3, 2011 — Virginia Regional Festival of Flight volunteers will have a huge logistical advantage over previous years when setting up and tearing down for the 2011 event, scheduled April 30-May 1 at Suffolk Executive Airport. A 40-foot SeaLand storage container, purchased with funds donated to the Virginia Aviation Council by Aero Industries at the Richmond International Airport was installed recently, providing year-round storage of nylon fencing, fence posts, barrels, signs, tents, and other items.
Volunteers Cliff Martin and Ron VanSickle led a crew that built support piers, graveled the approved location on the airport, and painted the container inside and out. Along with installing windows, Martin is also designing and building customized storage racks and shelves for efficient storage.
