Buy a Piper, Learn to FlyBy Mac McClellan, Editor-at-Large, EAA 747337
The purchase of a Piper LX comes with a three-week training program.
March 29, 2011 —Piper has created a new program it calls "Ready, Set, Fly" to give people dedicated and concentrated flight training in their new Piper Archer LX.
If you buy a new Archer, Piper has created a three-week concentrated flight training program offered at Vero Beach that is intended to lead to a private license in three weeks. The new owner flies his own airplane and has uninterrupted training in a location that offers excellent VFR flying conditions virtually year around.
The program is in response to research that has shown that many people drop out of flight training because of difficulty scheduling lessons, of ever changing instructors, or the uneven condition and appearance of airplanes available for training. In the Piper program the training is dedicated to one person who flies only one airplane and it is in brand new condition because, well, it's brand new.
If a person buying an Archer LX already has a private or other license the training can be applied to an advanced rating such as IFR. The training can also take place at a location of the customer's choosing.
The Archer LX is priced at $309,900.
