Sporty’s Plans International Learn to Fly Day Event

April 8, 2011 — Sporty’s Pilot Shop will host its second International Learn to Fly Day event on Saturday, May 21, in conjunction with the annual Sporty’s Open House & Fly-In. Sporty’s is located at Clermont County Airport (I69), Batavia, Ohio, and the event held there last year drew about 2,000 people and 300 to 400 aircraft.
This year the open house is 10 a.m.-3 p.m., rain or shine, and will feature a Learn to Fly Center where attendees will be able to speak to flight instructors about the learning to fly. Introductory flights will also be available on the spot along with a free learning to fly seminar.
The day’s other scheduled events include:
- FAA safety seminars hosted by Garmin, Bendix/King, Aspen Avionics, Air Mod, and more.
- Free hot dogs served at noon
- Four flight simulators
- Cessna aircraft on display
- Airport tour featuring Sandy’s Airpark
- More than 30 exhibits
