Garmin to Cease Production of GNS 530W and 500W Series
November 3, 2011 – In the wake of this year’s introduction of the GTN 600 and GTN 700 series touch-screen navigators, Garmin International announced this week it will discontinue production of the GNS 530W and GPS 500W series products effective November 30, 2011. Garmin also anticipates that the GNS 430W, 420W, and 400W series products will remain available through the first half of 2012. The company will continue supporting the GNS series with repair services and maintenance software releases for many years to come, according to Mika Cohn, Garmin communications specialist. FliteLevel Select Extended Warranties are also available for GNS products of any age.
“We are delighted the GNS series has been so widely recognized and accepted in the marketplace over the past 13 years,” Cohn said. “And we are equally pleased with the customer acceptance for the new GTN series, which will serve as the GNS series replacement for the next decade and beyond.” For more information, visit the Garmin website.
