May 22, 2012 - Several EAA staffers joined EAA President/CEO Rod Hightower at the annual Sporty's Open House and International Learn to Fly Day celebration Saturday at Clermont County/Sporty's Airport in Batavia, Ohio. Joining Hightower were Jeff Skiles, vice president of chapters and youth education; Mac McClellan, director of publications; Brian O'Lena, Young Eagles manager; and Trevor Janz, manager of chapters and Eagle Fights.

More than 1,000 people and close to 200 aircraft came throughout the day, including Hightower in his North American T-6. EAA was among 40 participating exhibitors, several of whom held seminars, including Garmin, Aspen Avionics, Air Mod, ForeFlight, and NFlightcam. One seminar, Sporty's "Flying with the iPad" session, drew an estimated 150 pilots.

Several non-pilot attendees took advantage of an introductory flight offered through International Learn to Fly Day.
