Rocky Mountain Airshow

August 23, 2012 - This weekend's 10th annual Rocky Mountain Airshow, hosted by Colorado Sport Aviation Inc., is set to wow visitors with thrilling air show performances, fireworks, and activities for all ages at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, Broomfield, Colorado.

Held in conjunction with the 32nd annual Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-In, hundreds of aircraft from around the country are expected to arrive for the weekend.

The air show begins with a bang on Friday with a fireworks display presented by Webroot Security, followed by the hot-air balloon glow and the twilight air show. Visitors who come early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday can enjoy the Rocky Mountain Balloonfest launches.

The event's AdventureZone area will be open to provide numerous activities and hands-on projects to engage children of all ages.

Visitors can also indulge in the area's best food concessions while enjoying a world-class air show lineup, including, but not limited to, five-time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and two-time Red Bull Air Race Champion Kirby Chambliss, Melissa and Rex Pemberton, Patty Wagstaff, the USAFA Wings of Blue Parachute demonstration, the Rocky Mountain Renegades, and Rocket Billy Racing.

Additionally, a joint collaboration between United Launch Alliance (ULA) and Ball Aerospace will make air show history when they launch a 17-foot Stars and Stripes rocket, put together by high school and college students in the Intern Rocket Program.
