U.S. Unlimited Team Named for 2013 World Championships


U.S. Unlimited Team
The United States Unlimited Team includes (l to r-in back) Hector Ramirez (first alternate), Goody Thomas, Rob Holland, Michael Steveson (team manager), David Martin, and Robert Armstrong. Kneeling are Michael Racy, Melissa Pemberton, Debby Rihn-Harvey, and Nikolai Timofeev.

October 11, 2012 - The United States Unlimited Team is in place for the 2013 World Aerobatic Championships set for October 9-20, 2013, at the North Texas Regional Airport in Sherman/Denison, Texas (KGYI).

The team, announced at the conclusion of the recently completed U.S. Nationals also held at KGYI, is Rob Holland, Goody Thomas, David Martin, Michael Racy, Nikolai Timofeev, Debby Rihn-Harvey, Robert Armstrong, and Melissa Pemberton. First alternate is Hector Ramirez, and Michael Steveson is the team manager.

At the U.S. Nationals held September 23-29 in Denison, repeat champions included Rob Holland in Unlimited Power, and Jason Stephens, who won the Unlimited Glider trophy for the fourth consecutive year. For the first time in memory, gliders were part of every category from Sportsman through Unlimited. Holland also won the four-minute Freestyle championship

Other gold medalists included Patrick Clark, Advanced Power; Conner Deebel (USAFAcademy), Advanced Glider; Stanley Moye, Intermediate Power; James Bloch (USAF Academy), Intermediate Glider; Paul Thomson, Sportsman Power; and Eric Stubblefield (USAF Academy), Sportsman Glider. (Ben Thomas, of the University of North Dakota, won the Primary Power category, for which no national title is given.)

The national competition took place in great weather with 94 pilots competing in five power and four glider categories.
