Geared Drives Assets Now Part of New Auto PSRU's LLC
December 20, 2012 - Stuart Davis, of Fort Worth, Texas, has acquired the assets of Geared Drives, and will offer the well-known gear-driven prop speed reduction units (PSRU) through Auto PSRU's LLC, located on Hicks Airport (T67) northwest of Fort Worth.
Davis recently purchased the business assets from the family of Geared Drives founder Bud Warren, of Conroe, Texas, who was killed in a plane crash in May 2011.
Davis, an engineer with more than 33 years of experience in the aviation and aerospace/defense industries, has moved the business from Conroe to the new Hicks Airport location, and the new website - slated to go live on December 20 - will include all content from the Geared Drives website. New content, including information about Davis and his plans for improving products and services to legacy and future customers, is also online.
"Bud and the gang had several improvements and new features in process that I will continue to incorporate into the product lines, plus my own ideas for improvements and several suggestions that I have already received from previous customers through the user group," Davis said.
Included in Auto PSRU's long-term plans are to continue manufacturing the BS350 PSRU for Chevy LS engines, the 200Z PSRU for the Subaru engines, and firewall forward mounting kits and components so customers can install their auto conversions into their projects. Larry Perryman, who worked for Geared Drives, will assist in the transition and startup.
"Supporting legacy customer needs is also very important me," Davis added. "My policy will be to do anything I can to help them maintain their units, plus upgrade, and/or improve their units with new features.
"I look forward to providing these great products and services to the experimental aircraft community again." Contact Davis at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 936-827-5162.
