Flying Musicians Association to Participate in Wright Event at Kitty Hawk
December 12, 2013 - The Flying Musicians Association will participate in next week's 110th Anniversary of Powered Flight celebration, sponsored by the First Flight Society at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, December 16-17. FMA members will provide music, staff an information booth, and give its compelling "Symphony in the Sky: The Correlation Between Aviation and Music" presentation that explains why nearly 50 percent of pilots are musicians.
FMA President/CEO John Zapp called it a "dream come true" to be invited to participate in the celebration. "FMA has made great strides over the last four years, working hard to establish a foothold in the aviation industry to secure support for our outreach to students," he said.
Zapp and fellow FMA members Billy Gee and Donnie Story (son of World War II B-25 pilot Don Story) will perform at the Pre-Flight Celebration Dinner/Banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk Monday. For more information, visit the First Flight Society website.
