Newly Approved Searey LSA Amphibian at Sebring

January 16, 2014 - The Elite version of Progressive Aerodyne's Searey light-sport amphibious airplane received FAA certification in December, and this week it will be on display at the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring, Florida.

The Searay is powered by the turbocharged Rotax 914, offering a large sliding canopy that can remain open while flying, GPS, angle of attack and gear position warning systems, wide cabin, and more.

Progressive Aerodyne, located in Tavares, Florida, will also be on display at the Sebring U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, January 16-19, 2014.

"We are so pleased and excited about being able to offer our Searey light-sport amphibious Elite to the market," said Adam Yang, CEO. "We believe that our airplane fulfills a much anticipated desire for those customers who want to experience the fun and adventure of flight, both in the air and on water, with ease."

The first Searey flew in November 1992 and kits were offered by the family-owned business. Searey kit airplanes are flown all over the world. Progressive Aerodyne is now in full production of two configurations of Searey amphibious airplanes, the Searey and the Searey Elite. In addition, the company continues to manufacture kits.
