Skiplane Fly-In
First off Mooney's assembly line, set to restart February 26, will be an Acclaim Type S.

February 12, 2014 - Mooney International Corporation CEO Dr. Jerry Chen announced this week that the assembly line will start up again on February 26 in Kerrville, Texas, following a five-year production hiatus. First on the production line will be a M20TN Acclaim Type S with TSIO-550-G-Turbo Normalized engine and an upgraded Garmin G1000 integrated avionics suite.

"This is an important date in the history of Mooney," Chen said. "There has been an extraordinary effort on the part of everyone at Mooney and I couldn't be more proud of what has been accomplished in a short amount of time."

The company has more than 55 employees as continues to upgrade the facility and has invested in new manufacturing equipment. There is also a strong evolution toward building a more technologically based manufacturing facility that will add to production efficiencies.

The Mooney Airplane Pilots Association (MAPA) will hold its annual homecoming convention at the Kerrville Airport next to Mooney facilities April 10-13 to help celebrate the comeback. In addition, the company will host public tours of the facility during the MAPA event.

"There is so much pent up excitement about Mooney's return," said Trey Hughes, MAPA president. "The owners are anxious to personally meet Dr. Chen and hear about the future of the company."
