EAA, along with the General Aviation
Manufacturers Association, cordially invites you to attend the South
Dakota General Aviation Rally featuring Senator John Thune and Governor
The event, held in partnership with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the National Business Aviation Association, will be on Wednesday, August 31 at Capital City Air at the Pierre Regional Airport.
The rally will highlight the importance of general aviation (GA) to the state of South Dakota. Congressional leaders and state and local public officials will interact with general aviation workers and the many users who rely on GA to conduct business, access specialized healthcare services, treat crops and travel across this great state.
The general aviation industry contributes more than $150 billion to the U.S. economy annually and supports 1.2 million jobs nationwide. GA is one of the few remaining domestic manufacturing industries that provides a positive trade surplus for the United States.
General aviation is a critical component of the nation's transportation infrastructure and has access to ten times as many airports as commercial airlines. It helps thousands of businesses of all sizes become more productive and efficient and provides local communities with much-needed tax revenue and jobs.
EAA embodies the spirit of aviation through the world's most engaged community of aviation enthusiasts. EAA's 170,000 members and 1,000 local chapters enjoy the fun and camaraderie of sharing their passion for flying, building and restoring recreational aircraft.
