This Hatz Classic is a tribute
Greg Laslo
There is a thing about biplanes. Then, there is
a thing about this biplane, the brown-on-cream
Hatz Classic, where the man in the white Ray’s
Flight Crew T-shirt stands in its shade and politely
accepts the attaboys from strangers who have
wandered through Homebuilt Parking to find it. |

of aircraft restorer to the next. |

Reinventing the Ski
EAAer makes skis for multi-surface use
Kent Misegades
The hot, dusty gravel road that led from the
Bus Park to the flightline at EAA AirVenture

Marvin Polzien’s Airships
Building on the past
David Swindler
For the past eight years, Marvin Polzien,
EAA 373784, of Ardmore, Oklahoma,
has been designing, building, and flying
blimps. He is among an elite few who
have sufficient tenacity to build and fly
such machines, and he’s living proof that
the sport of building and operating small blimps is a real form of sport aviation. |
