Welcome to EAA's New Volunteer Newsletter:
The EAA Volunteer
While EAA's foundation was built on volunteerism, early this year marked the first time a Volunteer Coordinator was assigned to work with volunteers and help develop the basic foundation needed to run an effective volunteer program. Volunteers are looking for support, consistency, and basic information.
Liz Tellock, EAA #746288, is the first official Volunteer Coordinator for EAA. Many of you involved in AirVenture are familiar with Liz, as she has been a key Convention Headquarters liaison in fulfilling requests throughout the years. We are excited to have Liz help lead this effort!
In addition, we formed the Volunteer Advisory Committee, a group of experienced volunteers that will work closely with us on some key initiatives. This committee is a voice for the volunteers everywhere, so don't hesitate to reach out to them or us with your feedback and insights.
We are thrilled to share this new Volunteer eNewsletter to keep you informed about activities and updates for AirVenture and year-round opportunities. Whether you are a current volunteer or you have been thinking about joining the EAA Family, we hope you will find this newsletter insightful. In addition, we are working closely with the Volunteer AirVenture Chairs through monthly teleconferences to open the lines of communication, receive feedback, and share basic information and resources available to them.
Is there something or someone you want to brag about? Recognize? Share with other volunteers? This eNewsletter is for you as much as it is for us, so please feel free to submit your articles to Liz Tellock.
We look forward to continuing to work with everyone and sincerely thank you for your volunteerism at EAA. We truly do believe and know that "Volunteers are the Heart and Soul of the EAA Family."
