Camping and Visitor Guides: Not Just for Visitors
By Kathleen L. Witman, Project Manager, Marketing Services, EAA 709579
Every year thousands of visitors use the EAA Camping Guide and EAA Visitor Guide (formerly called the Info Guide) to plan their trip to EAA AirVenture.
The EAA Camping Guide provides campers with need-to-know information for an enjoyable and safe visit. That information includes aircraft and general camping rules, plus available services such as where to get ice, food, propane, and find the nearest laundry facilities. A detailed map of Camp Scholler and an overview map of North 40 and other aircraft camping areas visually help folks get around.
The EAA Visitor Guide is like a city guide that provides information about what to see and do during AirVenture week. It includes general grounds information, including the main grounds map, and a list of services from ATMs to WiFi hot spot locations. For shoppers, there are the names and locations of nearly 1,000 exhibitors, EAA merchandise locations, and the fun Flymart and Aeromart venues. Visitors can also learn what is going on in each aviation neighborhood such as Warbirds and the Seaplane Base and how to get there. In addition, there's the must-have daily schedule of all Oshkosh forums, workshops, presentations, movies, book signings, and other events.
These two publications are not just for visitors. They are excellent resources for volunteers to learn what to expect at Oshkosh. It also makes it easier to share that information with AirVenture attendees during the week.
Get your online copy of the EAA Camping Guide online and the 8-page print version after June 15. The online version of the EAA Visitor Guide will be available around July 17 and in print on July 24. Both publications also will be available on the Sporty's App through the iTunes Store, Google Play, and Amazon's Android App Store.
