Runway 5K Registration Opens for Runway 5K Walk/Run
By Jessica Buss, EAA 1084418, EAA Senior HR Business Partner

Registration is now open for the 2013 EAA Runway 5k Run/Walk that takes place on August 3 at 7 a.m. on the AirVenture grounds. There are plenty of changes for this year's event, including a brand new logo, a new route, and a new local charity that will benefit from the race.

The new route will start in the ultralight area, then run south along the flight line, across the south end of the airport and up the east side, where you can get a whole different perspective on the grounds. The runners and walkers will then loop back along the same route to finish at the ultralight area.

This year the race will benefit the Oshkosh Area United Way and the more than 51 local agencies and programs it supports in our local community. EAA is excited to work with United Way and support its good work here in our hometown. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Ann Gentz, EAA Lifetime #558697, Volunteer Chair, at gardannie.ag@gmail.com or Jessica Buss, Staff Liaison, at jbuss@eaa.org. Food & Beverage at AirVenture
By Ryan Rasmussen, EAA 1089735, Events Food & Beverage Manager and Mary Ann Dilling, EAA #1084256, Director of Events & Hospitality

Over the past year the EAA Events and Hospitality Department has been working very hard to improve the food and beverage program for AirVenture 2013. To evaluate the program, a list of assessments was created to gauge the success of each food location at AirVenture 2012. Based on these findings and after reviewing guest survey comments, a new program was created for 2013 that will enhance the food variety throughout the grounds and create a better guest experience.

Not only will our guests enjoy the enhanced menu options, but they will also see uniform beverage pricing throughout AirVenture. By creating more accountability to our vendors EAA will now be able to better track popular food items and can better evaluate the guest flow from stand to stand. We look forward to AirVenture 2013, and are excited to showcase a more unique food and beverage program. For more detail, you are welcome to view this PowerPoint presentation.

AirVenture Forums
Forum Hosts is Looking for Volunteers
Forums is a big part of the attraction to AirVenture Oshkosh. With over 800 various forums and workshops going on all over convention grounds, it takes a small army of volunteers to bring it all together. Forum hosts volunteers assist the speakers and attendees by ensuring the speakers have what they need, they introduce speakers and welcome attendees, and take headcount as they evaluate presentations. This is a great way to make a huge contribution while you are also learning new things.

If your chapter is looking for a way to get involved, volunteering as a chapter in forum hosts is a great way to get everyone involved. Please contact Keith Anderson, EAA #609155, at keith.j.anderson@gmail.com for information on volunteering.

Present at This Year's AirVenture Forums
Have you always thought of speaking at AirVenture Oshkosh? With your help, we strive to offer AirVenture attendees world-class forums and presentations that provide technical, educational, historical, and entertainment value.

Please complete the online application if you are interested in speaking. We appreciate your support and look forward to your help in making the forums area at EAA AirVenture 2013 a memorable experience for all who attend! If you have any questions, please contact us at speaker@eaa.org.
Basic Training
We Need Your Help!
Beginning March 1, we are asking all volunteers to brag a little! We want to collect your volunteer hours!

If you travel to EAA for weekend work parties, stop into Weeks Hangar for some rest-and-relaxation skinning the B-17, or volunteer at a special event in the museum, we want to hear about it! By submitting your volunteer hours and noting the area you volunteered, EAA can better recognize where and how volunteers are making a difference; the amount of time volunteerism has on supporting EAA programs; and, the areas of interests and needs for volunteers. EAA can also apply for grants and obtain financial support based on the data collected.

Most importantly, by submitting your hours worked, EAA can say a BIG Thank You for all you do!

Check with your staff liaison when you stop by to volunteer and ask them where you sign in to record your hours, or complete the volunteer log and send to Liz Tellock, EAA #746288 at ltellock@eaa.org.
