Win Free AirVenture 2016 Admission in Redbird/EAA Spot Landing Competition
June 24, 2015 - Test your piloting skills in a virtual spot landing contest taking place this year at the EAA Pathways Pavilion and you could win free admission to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh next year! The Pathways Pavilion is located on the northwest corner of Knapp Street and Celebration Way, on EAA Square.
Redbird Flight Simulations will have several simulators set up and ready for pavilion visitors, who will attempt to land on a specific spot of a virtual runway from a stable approach. Each day EAA will award prizes to participants with the top three scores. Closest to the spot will win first place, a pair of weekly wristbands for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016; second closest, two tickets to ride on the Ford Tri-motor at AirVenture; and third closest, two tickets to ride on a Bell 47 helicopter at AirVenture.
All participants will receive a button to commemorate their participation in the event. The contest is open to any EAA AirVenture attendee, and will run daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A TV screen will show participants’ performance from inside the simulator to give others an idea of how the contest works.
Daily winners will be announced in AirVenture Today and on EAA Radio each morning.
“You don’t have to be a pilot to win,” said Bret Steffen, EAA director of education. “The spot landing challenge is open to everyone, and we encourage all of our attendees to stop by and see how you can do!”
