AirVenture Salutes Apollo 13

July 18, 2015 - This year marks the 45th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo 13 lunar mission, and EAA will hold several activities featuring many of the people who worked together to turn a potential tragedy into an extraordinary success.

Getting the crippled Apollo spacecraft and its crew back safely to Earth is the stuff of legend, and EAA AirVenture Oshkosh visitors will get the full story from those heroes who achieved it. Scheduled to attend during the week are astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise, flight directors Gene Kranz and Milt Windler, and Bill Reeves, lunar module flight controller.

In the coming week, the following special events will take place featuring the Apollo 13 story.
