June 13, 2019 - The EAA Four Corners is a great place to stop for any AirVenture-goer, new or returning.

Located on Celebration Way just west of Boeing Plaza is the EAA AirVenture Welcome Center, the EAA Member Center, EAA Pilot Proficiency Center, and the EAA Discover Aviation Corner.

At the AirVenture Welcome Center, visitors will be able to get all their event questions answered, purchase merchandise, visit the 50 Years in Oshkosh pop-up museum, listen to presentations, and participate in meet-and-greets with notable EAA AirVenture Oshkosh guests.

The EAA Member Center is your one-stop shop for joining or renewing your EAA membership, learning about lifetime membership, redeeming a free gift receipt from the admission gates, asking advocacy questions, learning about membership benefits and chapter programs, or simply cooling off in the EAA Member Oasis.

Get hands-on with the activities of the EAA Spirit of Aviation mobile experience and engage in Aviore activities at the Discover Aviation Corner.

A new and exciting year of AirVenture means new and exciting changes to the Four Corners as well!

This year, the Spirit of Aviation mobile experience will move back to the southeast corner as we put an emphasis on introduction to aviation and flight. The Discover Aviation Corner will also feature the completed 2018 One Week Wonder Van's RV-12is.

The EAA AirVenture Welcome Center will be celebrating 50 years in Oshkosh. In addition to special merchandise, the center will have a 50 year anniversary photo op, and the opportunity for visitors to share their AirVenture stories through the EAA Aviation Museum's Timeless Voices.

The EAA Member Center will be the home to the Great EAA Aircraft Raffle. The PA-18 replica will be custom-built from the ground up and feature some high-end accessories and finishes to help celebrate 50 Years in Oshkosh. The project and engine will be on display and guests can purchase raffle tickets at this location as well as other places on the grounds.

EAA is giving pilots even more reasons to stop by the Pilot Proficiency Center during AirVenture this year. Changes to the Pilot Proficiency Center will include an emphasis on year-round proficiency training, and upgrades to the Redbird flight simulators will feature better graphics and new hardware.

Additionally, the topics for the tech talks will focus on (at least) one of four topics: procedures, tools, weather, and skills, all pertaining to pilots. There will also be an Ask ATC opportunity in coordination with NATCA. Attendees who complete a flight scenario or tech talk will also be automatically entered to win prizes, thanks to the Paul Berger Foundation.

The Pilot Proficiency Center is a skill-building and gathering area for those with a desire to increase their knowledge, hone their abilities, and network with other passionate pilots. It is sponsored by Hartzell Propeller, Redbird Flight Simulations, and Jeppesen, with support from the National Association of Flight Instructors, Society of Aviation and Flight Educators, National Air Traffic Controllers Association, Cloud Ahoy, Bose, Community Aviation, Mindstar Aviation, PilotEdge, and Plane & Pilot Magazine.

EAA Marketing Manager Tricia Rathermel said EAA is encouraging this as a destination especially for pilots.

"The AirVenture guests who will gain the most value from this area are those who have soloed or completed their pilot training," Tricia said. "But even the most experienced pilot has something to gain from focusing on proficiency."

The Pilot Proficiency Center is a great place to visit for simulator training for pilots on the X Wind Trainer and tech talk topics focused on safety and accuracy in flight.

We can't wait to see you at the Four Corners this year!
