EAA Activities Center
Exhausted after marveling at all of the airplanes and skills displayed here at Oshkosh? Have some extra time to fill between your forums and workshops? Come and enjoy some time with us!
The Activities Center has been a part of EAA for more than 30 years. We have about 20 volunteer instructors providing classes for over 20 different activities, all inside a 4,000 square foot tent. We offer classes on model aircraft building, stained glass mosaics and jewelry making, acrylic painting, weaving, and knitting, just to name a few!
Run completely by volunteers, the Activities Center is a great place to learn a new skill, relax, meet up with old friends, and even make new ones!
NEW this year!
On Thursday morning, you can Paint Your Own Nose Art with instructor Chris Henry. Preceding the class on Wednesday morning, Chris will take you on a special tour of the rare WWII Nose Art Exhibit in the Eagle Hangar. The collection, owned by the Commemorative Air Force, has never before been on loan to any other museum and will be leaving EAA in the spring of 2020. Class size is limited, so sign up fast!
Class registration begins at 8:00 A.M. on the first Sunday before the convention at the Camp Scholler Internet Café, located in Paul’s Woods across Schaick Road from the Activities Center. Finished samples of crafts taught at the tent will be available to view at that time. Classes are open to everyone and pre-registration is encouraged. Your instructors will supply everything needed to complete your project. Classes begin at 8:30 Monday morning and run throughout the week until noon on the final Sunday.
Not interested in attending a class? Or, perhaps just looking for something to keep younger family members occupied? No problem. We have a sundry of craft kits for all ages! They will include all of the supplies you’ll need to complete the project.
We are open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the exception of the last Sunday when we close at noon. You can find us next to Hangar D and the Fly Market.
