Learn about unique and historic aviation experiences during the Aviation Adventure Speaker Series, conducted by passionate aviators with a unique story to tell. Presentations take place in the Founder's Wing at the EAA Aviation Museum. All presentations start at 7:00 p.m.

October 21, 2021, 7 p.m. – Taras Lyssenko | Rescuing the Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat


For the past 35 years, Taras Lyssenko of A and T Recovery has led a team to locate and recover World War II-era U.S. Navy aircraft from Lake Michigan. Join us as Taras talks about raising Lewis Air Legends’ Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat, currently on loan to the EAA Aviation Museum, from Lake Michigan.

November 18, 2021, 7 p.m. – Sharon Preszler: The First Female F-16 Pilot


Sharon “Betty” Preszler was hand-picked as one member of the initial cadre of women fighter pilots in the United States Air Force. She was the first woman to fly the F-16 (a single seat, single engine fighter), the first woman to fly combat missions and instruct in the F-16. In her 20+ years of service in the US Air Force she was also a navigator, piloted a Lear Jet, and spent time in North American Aerospace Defense Command writing our homeland defense plans after the terrorist attacks on 9/11, plans that are still in use today.

January 20, 2022, 7 p.m. – U-2: Flying a Cold War Legend


The U-2 spy plane is a highly classified high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft which is still shrouded in mystery decades after it began its service. Join us as U-2 pilot Carl Trout talks about what it takes to fly the U-2, as well as his personal stories from this fascinating aircraft.

February 17, 2022, 7 p.m. – An Inside Look at Flying the Goodyear Blimp


Join us for a fun evening that takes us behind the scenes of the Goodyear Blimp with two of its lead pilots.
