EAA Names Chapter Award Winners

August 14, 2014 - Each year at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, we present the annual chapter awards at the Chapter Leaders Breakfast. As always, we get a number of high-quality candidates for the Web Editor, Newsletter Editor, and Major Achievement awards. The selection process can be tough, and this year was no exception.

For the 2014 Web Editor award, the recipient is Dave Baker from Chapter 35 in San Antonio, Texas. Dave’s message to all of us is that anyone can make a great website if he puts in a little effort and use the tools provided by EAA. Dave went from knowing very little about web editing to providing Chapter 35 members and visitors with a great website that really communicates the activities of the chapter.

The recipient of the Newsletter Editor award is Thomas Vukonich from Chapter 13 in Detroit, Michigan. Thomas puts together an amazing newsletter that is easy to read, informative, and presented in a manner that just makes sense. Month in and month out his fellow chapter members appreciate Thomas’ efforts.

And the Major Achievement award goes to Richard Keyt from Chapter 983 in Granbury, Texas. Richard was an F-4 Phantom pilot during the Vietnam War, and he flew for American Airlines until his retirement. He now participates in a number of aviation activities including flight instruction and being active at his home airport. He is also making a difference for young engineers by giving them hands-on experience at the Dennis N. Polen Aviation Education Foundation.
