Participation in Annual Member Survey

By Serena Kamps, Chapter Field Rep I, EAA Lifetime 1011028

October 2021 – Surveying your members is important as it can give a glimpse into their satisfaction level as well as providing information on their interests and the direction they’d like to see the chapter go. It is an opportunity for you to receive input from everyone and is a window both into the areas where you are strong as a chapter as well as those that could use improvement.

You are welcome and encouraged to create your own survey specific to your chapter to send to your members yearly, however, each fall/winter EAA has traditionally offered a survey to chapter officers which they are urged to pass along to all members of their chapter. We did not do it last year but information on this year’s survey is forthcoming, so stay tuned! Not only is the survey provided to you ready to share, the real benefit to the chapter results from the fact that the answers are shared back to the chapter, giving you a snapshot into your own chapter member experiences and valuable data to work with.

Your chapter receives a chapter recognition point if at least 20 percent of your chapter members participate in the survey (number of members is determined by the chapter-reported number during renewal), and your chapter receives a Net Promoter Score of at least 50 out of 100 (chapter network average is approximately 60). Net Promoter Score is determined based on a 1 to 10 numerical answer given to the question “How likely is it that you would recommend your chapter to a friend or colleague?”

Be on the lookout for further information about this year’s survey and take a step in better understanding your chapter members. You’ll be able to serve your members better, leading to greater satisfaction. When your members are satisfied, they’ll be eager to invite their family and friends to join in the fun, leading to more membership recruiting opportunities and a strong chapter.
