International Young Eagles Day Makes Successful Return in 2022

EAA

July 2022

This year’s International Young Eagles Day, which was celebrated on Saturday, June 11, was a welcome return to pre-pandemic Young Eagles operations. Although not as busy as a traditional June, this June marked the busiest month of Young Eagles activities since fall of 2019!

Notable International Young Eagles Day accomplishments:

  • EAA Chapter 1174 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, flew 118 Young Eagles, all using Young Eagles Online Registration.
  • EAA Chapter 13 in Ray, Michigan, flew 99 Young Eagles, all using the EAA Digital Signature app, so there was no paperwork to process! An additional 30 chapters also used the iPad app successfully.
  • Eight Young Eagles pilots flew their first Young Eagle. These pilots have already combined to fly more than 40 Young Eagles.

Thank you to all the dedicated ground volunteers, chapter coordinators, and Young Eagles pilots who made this year’s International Young Eagles Day a safe and successful celebration!
