Continuing Legal Education (For Lawyers) “Sausage Making 101: Real Life Tales of Getting Bills Through Congress.”

Fri, Jul 26, 2019 - Fri, Jul 26, 2019
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Location: Vette Theater

Presenter: Doug Macnair, Erin Miller

Join the EAA Legal Advisory Council and the University of La Verne College of Law in this exciting and unique presentation on the legislative steps that School House Rock didn’t cover. Erin Miller, the driving force behind the Act that reopened Arlington National Cemetery to the WASP and EAA’s own Doug Macnair, VP of Government Relations (our man in Washington, D.C.), will share their first-hand accounts of what is involved in shepherding legislation through “the hill.” Their presentation will give lawyers insight into the language that makes its way into laws and how various interests put their mark on the final product. A Question and Answer session will follow the formal presentation, and Erin will sign copies of her recently published book, “Final Flight Final Fight,” before and after the CLE. The presentation will qualify for one hour of general CLE credit in most jurisdictions.
