How to Build/Operate a Wind Tunnel
Tue, Jul 23, 2019 - Tue, Jul 23, 2019
4:00 PM - 5:15 PM
4:00 PM - 5:15 PM
Location: Homebuilders Hangar
Presenter: Dr. David Ullman
In this presentation, I describe what is needed to design and build a wind tunnel either for demonstration or for talking accurate, usable aerodynamic information. It features a tunnel that produces velocities up to 90 mph (40 meters/sec) in a 2 ft (.6 meter) square test section and is instrumented to measure lift, drag, and pitching moment. Typical tunnel results are shown to give an idea of what is possible. Sources for books and materials are provided.
