‘Ask ATC’ — A New Resource by EAA/IMC and VMC Club

June 2017 - EAA’s IMC and VMC clubs are launching a new resource for program participants and EAA members called Ask ATC, which allows pilots to post questions to the air traffic control panel in just a few clicks.

Through Ask ATC, pilots receive an answer to their ATC questions shortly after submission, thanks to the panel of air traffic controllers spread across the United States. They’ll answer questions, make suggestions, and tell you how they would handle different situations. The system also allows users to create follow-up questions to clarify issues.

“It is like a virtual visit to a control tower or radar center, followed by an honest discussion with an air traffic controller over a cup of coffee,” said Radek Wyrzykowski, EAA’s manager of flight proficiency. “Connecting pilots to people and resources that can make them safer and knowledgeable has been a primary goal of IMC and VMC clubs since the beginning. We are so happy to deliver this new service.”
