Holland Wins Third Straight Unlimited Title

September 26, 2013 - Rob Holland won his third straight Unlimited Power national championship at the 2013 U.S. National Aerobatic Championships in Sherman/Denison, Texas, which runs through Friday. Second place went to Jeff Boerboon and third to Nick Timofeev.

The week has gone by quickly in Grayson County's North Texas Regional Airport, with ideal weather for the full category competition. Nine Primary, 22 Sportsman, 22 Intermediate, 18 Advanced, and 20 Unlimited power pilots are competing along with five Sportsman, two Intermediate, five Advanced, and three Unlimited glider pilots.

This is an Advanced team selection year and that competition is still for grabs at this writing, with one flight left to fly this afternoon. Eight team members and two alternates will be selected from the 18 Advance competitors to compete at the World Advanced Aerobatic Championships next year in Slovakia.

Also this year, a Glider Advanced team will be selected to compete at the Glider World Championships in 2014. Follow the U.S. Nationals through the event website and Facebook page. Competition wraps up Friday, September 27.
