Caribbean Air Rally — It’s Not Too Late to Join the Fun!

By Ian Brown, Editor

January 2020 - Catherine Tobenas, the coordinator of the Caribbean Air Rally, contacted me recently and suggested that I might like to join the rally, especially since sponsor uAvionix was looking for amateur-built aircraft to participate in flight testing of the tailBeacon X with ADS-B Out. We mentioned this in Bits and Pieces last month, which caused Catherine to call me.

To cut a long story short, we're in! It's long been on my bucket list to fly the Caribbean islands in an aircraft that I'd constructed. My wife, Joey, is just as excited. I'm told two RV-10s from Ontario are participating, and I look forward to meeting those teams, as well as all the other participants. Watch for updates in future issues of Bits and Pieces.

Here is a map of the routing.

Caribbean

You can watch a two-episode special of The Aviators TV series about a previous Caribbean Air Rally here. It's not too late to participate, but you'd need to be quick, as payment in full is required by January 20.
