Welcome to Scott Knowlton, Our New Canadian Council Member

By Jeff Seaborn, Chair, Canadian Council

May 2021 – The EAA Canadian Council is pleased to welcome Scott Knowlton, EAA 413379, to the council. Scott began gliding at 13 and joined the RCAF at 22, serving as an Air Force logistics officer for nine years. Scott began his commercial pilot career at 31 and is currently an A320 captain. Scott manages all the pilot training and qualifications at Air Canada Rouge. Scott holds a class 3 flight instructor rating and teaches recreational, private, and tailwheel. In December, Scott experienced his first flight in a beautiful Pietenpol Air Camper that he built from scratch over 15 enjoyable years. Hopefully it was a warm day for the test flight. Scott has attended Oshkosh since 1994 and has attended the Pietenpol fly-in in Brodhead since 2004. In Scott's words, "I enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of the recreational aviation community, enjoy fly-ins and other aviation activities, love homebuilding and my collection of homebuilding friends, and bring enthusiasm and drive to our sport. I would like to see the numbers of Canadian homebuilders grow and younger members become involved."

Scott will be a great addition to an already enthusiastic and engaged council. His professional background and hands-on experience makes him a valuable asset to the Canadian Council and our Canadian members.
