June 2016 - By the time you read this we will only be a little over a month away from AirVenture Oshkosh 2016. Next month’s issue will contain final information about what Canadian attendees might look forward to. We are excited that Murphy has agreed to place an amazing amphibious kit plane on floats, the Murphy Yukon, at the Canadian tent. Here is a teaser photo.

and celebrating its 50th year since first flight, a Canadian example of the Mustang II.
Serge Desilets’ beautiful Mustang II
This beautiful example was built by Serge Desilets of Trois Rivieres, Quebec. Some of you may have noticed it last year fairly close to the homebuilt camping registration. I especially liked his handmade engine cowl design. He went back to basics, foamed and hand-carved his cowl plug, and laid up the mould.

For the first time ever, we’re going to have the EAA’s B17, Aluminum Overcast, visit some Canadian cities, and each stop will be hosted by the nearest EAA chapter. It’s basically a western swing, going from Victoria to Calgary to Regina to Gimli. It will be available for flights and viewing for four days at each location, beginning in Victoria on June 16.
