June 2020 – As you likely know, AirVenture 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus. Although this comes as no surprise, it is a huge disappointment to many of us.

AirVenture is a week filled with sights, sounds, experiences, and opportunities that feed our aviation cravings. People from around the world converge on Oshkosh every year to enjoy that experience.

Although there won't be a live AirVenture this year, EAA has recently announced they will host Spirit of Aviation Week July 21 through 25. This will be a virtual way to bring the aviation community together. There will be workshops, forums, presenters, and other educational content. As noted by the rise in popularity of EAA's online forums, many people are getting their aviation fix through online content right now.

This virtual aviation celebration, Spirit of Aviation Week, will be at EAAtogether.org and the official hashtag is #EAAtogether.

The website exists now, but the content is still being assembled. Spirit of Aviation Week will cover all EAA special interest communities and there will be content for everyone. During the week there will be live-streamed content and on-demand pieces. Exhibitors will have an online exhibit space featuring show specials, just like at AirVenture. There will be ways for chapters and members to share their content and be highlighted on EAA channels.

Although nothing can replace the immersion and camaraderie that is experienced at AirVenture, we expect EAA will create a week of aviation that will be second to none and well worth looking into.
