Sheet Metal and RV Assembly:

By combining these two popular workshops the student will learn how to build a sheet metal aircraft. Along with the learning procedures that will help you, the course consists of discussion of basic aluminum alloys, rivets, fasteners, and tools required. You will receive hands-on experience by building an airfoil section. All tools and course materials are supplied. This course remains one of the most popular offered and is taught by an aeronautical engineer and experienced sheet metal aircraft builder.

Course cost: CA$475 (US$350) for EAA members, CA$525 (US$385) for non-EAA members.

Electrics/Avionics:

This course will help you handle the electrical and electronic building concepts. It starts with basic electric theory for a clean, clear electrical design. You will complete an electric wiring project and build a complete intercom wiring harness. You will cover magneto and electronic ignition systems.

The course then moves on to instrumentation, radio, and antenna theory. You will also discuss glass cockpit concepts and current available equipment. This course is a must for the builder who wants to design and build his own instrumentation and glass cockpit systems, and is taught by an experienced aircraft electrics and electronics builder.

Annual Inspection and Sign-out of Your Homebuilt:

This highly interactive course is based on the requirements of the amateur-built aircraft owner to comply with the maintenance requirements of CAR 625 B and C. The course objective is to provide the owner of a Canadian homebuilt aircraft the ability to confidently carry out the annual inspection and to determine that the aircraft is in a condition for safe operation, and then to legally sign out the required logbook entry. This course is of great interest for builders as well as second owners of amateur-built Canadian aircraft and is taught by an experienced aircraft maintenance engineer.

What’s Involved in Homebuilding Your Aircraft:

This evening course covers the aspects of building your own aircraft in Canada. It will look at the regulatory requirements and building concepts including: building, project completion, flight testing, operating maintenance requirements, and information references available. This fun course is highly interactive and combines a delightful evening of entertainment with beneficial building knowledge. Course is taught by an aeronautical engineer, experienced and knowledgeable with Canadian aircraft building issues.

This two-hour Saturday evening course includes a pizza and pop dinner and all course materials. Cost - CA$30.
