EAA's 'Rally Congress' Offers Direct Link on GA Issues

Find, contact Congressional representatives and send messages

February 7, 2013 - EAA is creating a more effective way for members to contact their congressional representatives and alert them to key GA issues through EAA's new "Rally Congress" website, which will launch next week.

Rally Congress highlights the top issues from EAA's advocacy office that need direct member interaction with U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. It provides EAA members with background on these issues and even a method to find the senators and representatives for their state and district.

"Of the hundreds of aviation issues that EAA addresses each year, there are several where direct member action to Congress is essential to protect the freedom of flight enjoyed by EAA members," said Sean Elliott, EAA's vice president of advocacy and safety. "The Rally Congress system is not designed as a catch-all communication tool for all matters; rather, it allows EAA members to voice their opinions on specific, targeted issues where their input is essential to support general aviation."

When an issue needing EAA-member input to Congress emerges, EAA headquarters will alert members through e-Hotline,, or - if time allows - through EAA Sport Aviation magazine. Members can then log into the website, find the specific issue and EAA's position, and use that information to directly contact congressional representatives with the information.

The Rally Congress website is secured to prevent unauthorized use of members' information or spam to their individual e-mail addresses.

"Aviation enthusiasts can help their organizations state their case when it comes to protecting the freedom to fly," Elliott said. "This resource is designed so EAA members can do just that and let their voice be heard while they are also enjoying their passion for flying."
