EAA Chairman Appointed to IMC Club Board
April 3, 2013 - EAA Chairman Jack Pelton has been appointed to the IMC Club board of directors, the club announced this week, and will join the rest of the board when it meets next week at the Sun 'n Fun International Fly-In and Expo in Lakeland, Florida. EAA Director Mike Goulian was also recently appointed to the IMC board.
"I'm delighted to be joining the IMC Club board," Pelton said. "Its mission to raise instrument flying proficiency could not be more timely or relevant. We have to reduce the GA accident rate and encouraging pilots to continue to increase their skills and proficiency is one of the best ways I know to do that."
The nonprofit IMC Club aims to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety by bringing together instrument-rated pilots and those who want to earn the IFR rating for "hangar flying" sessions. More than half of all active pilots have an instrument rating, but only a minority of rated pilots routinely flies IFR.
"It is difficult for me to express how happy we are here at the IMC Club to be able to have someone with such an expertise and experience as Mr. Pelton to be part of our growing organization," remarked Radek Wyrzykowski, IMC Club president. "I want to thank Mr. Pelton enthusiastically and express my deep appreciation for accepting our invitation."
