EAA Employee Appreciation Month: Note from EAA's Chairman

March 6, 2014 - EAA members ask me on a regular basis how things are going in Oshkosh, particularly with the EAA staff. That's understandable, since many of our members and volunteers not only work with our employees, but also develop close friendships with them.

This is a great time to talk about that, since March 7 is officially National Employee Appreciation Day. We do appreciate the work the EAA staff does on a daily basis. They are the link between the members and Oshkosh, regardless in which department they work.

We're even taking it one step further and making March an Employee Appreciation Month at EAA. That means we can have some fun with the staff members throughout the month, from a Mardi Gras lunch this past week to a paper airplane toss to other activities that help us all to recall that flying and working in a recreational aviation organization is fun along with work.

We are a unique organization in many ways, with employees who span generations. We also have people who have been with us more than 30 years, as well as those who have joined us within the past two weeks.

They share one thing with all EAA members, though: They have a passion for aviation and the work they do. They look forward to working with our volunteers (who we'll recognize in April during National Volunteer Month) and our members. We appreciate all of their efforts.

I'm proud to have them represent our organization. This month, I hope you have the opportunity to say so, too.
