EAA Requests Extension for Hangar Use Policy Comments

August 29, 2014 - On Monday, August 25, EAA petitioned the FAA for a 60-day extension of the comment period for the proposed policy on non-aeronautical hangar use. Comments are currently due to the federal docket no later than midnight eastern time on Friday, September 5.

EAA requested the extension due to strong and ongoing member interest in receiving more in-depth understanding of the issue, combined with a desire to provide meaningful comments about the policy.  As of press time, more than 800 comments have been submitted to the docket, and all EAA members are encouraged to offer their perspective on appropriate use of hangars.

EAA has not yet received a response to its request for an extension, and hopes for an answer from the agency no later than early next week. EAA will keep members informed of breaking developments, including the approval or denial of our request, on this website and EAA forums as updates become available.
