October 14, 2014 - Avidyne announced development of the MLB100, a remote-mounted ADS-B “in” receiver designed to deliver data to its lineup of panel-mounted displays, including the newly certified IFD540 GPS navigation system.

Airplane owners who choose to meet the ADS-B “out” requirement using a transponder with extended squitter will need a separate receiver to see ADS-B traffic advisories and the host of weather and other data sent up on the network. The MLB100 fulfils that role.

Weather and other information on the ADS-B Flight Information System-Broadcast (FIS-B) network is subscription free. The MLB100 will also receive traffic information from other equipped airplanes and display the relative position of nearby traffic on a panel-mounted Avidyne display.

The MLB100 is priced at $2,495 including the mounting hardware kit. For more information, visit the Avidyne website.
