Well Done Donnita!

February 4, 2016 - Congratulations to 17-year-old Donnita Johnson, EAA 1021817, of Hermann, Missouri, who soloed on January 29, 2016! Johnson’s father, Leif, EAA 1021815, who told us about her flight, is more than a justifiably proud dad, he’s also her CFI. Using footage from a number of sources, including a camera mounted on the 1958 Cessna 172 used for the flight, Johnson’s father put together a video to commemorate the occasion. Her father said that he hoped that his fellow pilots would enjoy the video and also “…maybe remember this same moment in your lives.” We’d suggest that his video will not only cause many of us to reminisce—which it certainly did— but might just inspire some prospective young pilots that haven’t reached this particular milestone just yet.
