EAA Skyscape Theater Royale 2020 Movie Lineup

February 6, 2020 - Travel back in time and experience the golden age of cinema at EAA's Skyscape Theater Royale, a series of classic aviation film screenings. Each film begins at 6:30 p.m. in the museum's Skyscape Theater, an intimate setting with a 50-foot screen and state-of-the-art projection and sound systems. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to capacity. Screenings are free for EAA members, and $5 for nonmembers.

February 6, 2020, 6:30 p.m. – Memphis Belle (documentary)

Memphis Belle William Wyler's groundbreaking documentary focuses on the crew of the B-17 Flying Fortress Memphis Belle as they prepare to execute a strategic bombing mission over Germany. This restored version presents the classic film in unprecedented clarity.
 

March 5, 2020, 6:30 p.m. – Barnstorming

EAA  This warm and affectionate film tells the true story of an unexpected friendship that developed between a farm family and two pilots who literally dropped out of the sky. Their friendship has created a new tradition out of an old one long gone.
 

April 2, 2020, 6:30 p.m. – Beyond the Powder

Beyond the Powder This documentary film follows the female pilots of the 2014 Air Race Classic as they make their way across the country, while telling the story of the first women's cross-country air race of 1929, also known as the Powder Puff Derby. The film's producers, Adam and Kara White, will be on hand to present.
 

May 7, 2020, 6:30 p.m. – When We Were Apollo

EAA  The story of the Apollo space missions is a shining example of humanity's ability to rise to the challenge and exceed expectations with bold and innovative solutions. Behind every astronaut who set foot on the moon was Apollo’s workforce: a team of more than 400,000 people, each of whom knew that the program was only as good as their effort. This film offers an intimate look at some of the experiences of these inspiring backstage figures who spent almost a decade getting us to the moon and back.
 

June 4, 2020, 6:30 p.m. – Spitfire

EAA  The Supermarine Spitfire has come to symbolize the valiant efforts of the UK's Royal Air Force during World War II, in particular, the aerial showdown that quickly became known as the Battle of Britain. This film combines breathtaking cinematography with historic footage and intimate interviews with surviving RAF veterans to tell the story of the iconic fighter and its role in history's greatest conflict.
