EAA Among State's Military Tributes Highlighted

April 16, 2020 - Discover Wisconsin, Wisconsin's leading media brand and tourism TV show, is shining the spotlight on Wisconsin's Military Tributes in an upcoming episode that premieres Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. on Fox Sports Wisconsin and is currently available for online streaming at discoverwisconsin.com, Roku, Apple TV, SmartTV, Google Chromecast, and Amazon Fire.

"Of all of the episodes of Discover Wisconsin I've had the privilege of hosting, none are as reverent as this one," said Mariah Haberman, host of Discover Wisconsin. "Veteran or not, I feel everyone should take a half-hour of their time to watch 'Wisconsin's Military Tributes.'"

As part of the segment, the Discover Wisconsin crew was at the EAA Aviation Museum and talked with museum director Ron Connolly. Voted one of the best aviation museums in the world by CNN Travel, the museum is a testament to the spirit of aviation. In addition, the show's visit to last summer's EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in included an interview with original Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. James Harvey III. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American aviators who fought in WWII.

Discover Wisconsin also highlighted the nearby Military Veterans Museum in Oshkosh and The Highground near Neillsville in central Wisconsin, which is a location dedicated to providing healing for veterans, support for families, and honoring veterans. To end the episode, the Discover Wisconsin crew heads to Camp Douglas in western Wisconsin to highlight the community's proud military history.
