Share the Story of Your First Solo With EAA

April 16, 2020 - If you're stuck inside during COVID-19, there's still a way you can help spread The Spirit of Aviation. Help us out by sharing the story of your first solo in video format. There's a chance you could be featured in an EAA video project designed to inspire future aviators worldwide.

Feel free to find a nice, well-lit spot in your hangar or near your airplane if possible, get settled, and share your story! Set the scene, describe the conditions, airport, and airplane, and walk us through how it was and how you felt. You're encouraged to touch on what you felt when your instructor got out of the airplane, the feeling of the empty instructor seat as you lapped the pattern, and of course the sense of accomplishment and motivation you felt afterwards.

If you have access to a video camera such as a GoPro or DSLR, or even just a newer model cellphone that can capture good quality video and audio, you can participate! Just send us a video where you take us through your very first solo.

EAA will compile some of these stories into a complete video that will showcase these cherished moments, and shine a light of inspiration on the world of aviation.
