Ford Tri-Motor Begins 2021 National Tour in April

April 22, 2021 – The Liberty Aviation Museum's 1928 Ford Tri-Motor 5-AT-B will return for a full EAA national tour in 2021 after the COVID pandemic halted operations in 2020.

The first portion of the 2021 tour schedule includes a stop in Illinois before the aircraft heads south to Kentucky and Tennessee. The tour will continue into the summer, with the Tri-Motor returning to Oshkosh for the full week of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on July 26-August 1. EAA's Ford Tri-Motor 4-AT-E is currently undergoing continued restoration and maintenance and will not be touring this season.

Passengers on board the Liberty Tri-Motor will step back to the golden age of aviation and experience this authentic aircraft from the air. As part of health and safety protocols, no ground tours inside the airplane will be offered at this time and the aircraft interior will be disinfected following each passenger flight. In addition, masks will be required for all passengers during their flights. These protocols are subject to change as conditions warrant.

The Ford Tri-Motor is known as the first luxury airliner and redefined air travel, marking the beginning of commercial flight. The Liberty Aviation Museum's Ford Tri-Motor first flew in December 1928, and the ownership of the aircraft changed numerous times following that. After acquiring the aircraft in 2014, the Liberty Aviation Museum entered into an agreement with EAA to showcase the historic aircraft around the country.

Flights on the Ford Tri-Motor are $72 per adult in advance and $52 per child 17 and under. Walk-up passengers are welcome for a price of $77. Book your flight today at FlyTheFord.org.
