Join EAA at Upcoming AOPA Regional Fly-Ins

  • EAA’s Ford Tri-Motor
EAA’s Ford Tri-Motor is slated to appear at the May 14 AOPA Regional Fly-In in Salinas, California.

April 30, 2015 - EAA will once again be an active participant at five regional fly-ins hosted by AOPA this year, and the first one is coming up fast - May 16 at the Salinas Municipal Airport, California. Area EAA chapter and at-large members will be volunteering to help with airplane arrivals and parking, conducting the traditional pancake breakfast, and other activities. EAA’s Ford Tri-Motor is also scheduled to appear in Salinas, offering rides and ground tours.

EAA members are encouraged to attend, bring their families and experience the camaraderie between our two organizations, which together create a formidable foundation of support for general aviation. Those wishing to make a weekend of it can arrive a day early and participate in Barnstormers party activities including a barbecue, bonfire, and special screenings of the new film “Living in the Age of Airplanes.” Other than food expenses and Barnstormers activities, there is no charge to attend.

The Saturday grassroots gatherings will feature aviation exhibits, aircraft displays, forum presentations, and a Pilot Town Hall including EAA Chairman Jack J. Pelton, who plans to attend all five fly-ins.

“These are great events for EAA because they embody what our grassroots organization is all about,” Pelton said. “We get to interact with members whom we might not otherwise meet face to face and learn what’s on their minds. We’re also thrilled to continue working together with AOPA in promoting and growing GA throughout the country.”
