Zenith Hosts Fly-In to Summer June 18

June 16, 2016 - The long tradition of builder camaraderie and help that is the hallmark of Zenith Aircraft Company is nowhere better experienced than at the company’s factory in Mexico, Missouri, where pilots, experienced builders, and the entire factory meet with new builders and hopefuls to explore and celebrate the thrill of flight, in an airplane you build yourself.

On Saturday, June 18, Zenith enthusiasts will converge on the factory from all over North America, to exchange tips and stories, and meet and welcome the new and future Zenith builders and fliers who will attend this eighth springtime celebration of homebuilding.

Between the official hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Zenith factory on the Mexico airport (KMYJ), the conversations revolve around building and flying the many current and legacy planes that bear the name of Zenith. Self‐guided factory tours, demonstrations, and a good look at the factory lineup all figure into the action, with coffee and donuts in the morning and a hot lunch.

“All the visitors need to do is bring their enthusiasm and tie‐downs, and maybe a lawn chair,” said Zenith Aircraft Company President Sebastien Heintz. “We provide the factory and the airplanes.”

Unlike the fall Zenith Open Hangar Days in September, which host forums and technical sessions, the June “Fly In To Summer” event is “informal and unstructured, keeping with the joy of summertime flying and the urge to spend the long daylight hours looking down on Earth from a cool, comfortable altitude.”

The September Open Hangar Day and Fly‐In will be the 25th annual event and will feature more fun social (and flying!) activities and expanded seminars: September 23 and 24, 2016. Everyone with an interest is encouraged to attend Zenith Aircraft activities at the kit aircraft factory in Mexico, Missouri. Zenith also hosts monthly hands‐on kit airplane building workshops at the factory.
