EAA Present at Congressional Aviation Town Hall in Tarkio

July 18, 2019 - EAA staff, including CEO and Chairman of the Board Jack J. Pelton, were present at the Congressional Aviation Town Hall Meeting in Tarkio, Missouri, on Saturday to take part in a robust general aviation conversation that included representatives from several prominent GA groups.

The panel, moderated by U.S. Rep. Sam Graves, included FAA Acting Administrator Dan Elwell, U.S. Reps. Peter DeFazio, Rick Larsen, Sharice Davids, David Rouzer, and Adam Kinzinger, AOPA President Mark Baker, GAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce, NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen, NATA President Gary Dempsey, HAI Chief Operating Officer Ed DiCampli, ICAO President John Cudahy, AEA President Mike Adamson, and CAF President Hank Coates, alongside Pelton.

Each of the panel members made remarks concerning the state of aviation in the United States, and Pelton’s comments had to do with the MOSAIC rulemaking policy, especially the aspects concerning the expansion of the LSA category and the legacy fleet. Panel members then took questions after making their remarks.

The town hall event was part of the Wingnuts Flying Circus event, a fly-in held by EAA Chapter 1405 in Tarkio that also included an air show.
