Filmmakers Announce Spitfire Documentary

July 19, 2017 - Producer Gareth Dodds (The Last Man on the Moon, Mission Control: The Unsung Heroes of Apollo) has announced his latest project, Spitfire: The Feature Documentary. Focused on the iconic British fighter, the film tells the story of how the airplane was forged in competition, shaped as war clouds gathered and refined in the heat of combat.

“This is a story told by the last surviving combat veterans of those tumultuous days, told by the people who still fly her today,” Dodds said. The film will feature aerial footage of the surviving aircraft as seen through the lenses of one of the world’s top aviation photographers, John Dibbs.

Dodds promises that film won’t be like anything that has come before. “Its scope will be larger, its narrative more involving, and its storytelling more compelling,” he said.

Spitfire: The Feature Documentary is currently slated for release in 2018. To learn more, visit the film’s Facebook page or follow the production on Twitter.
