It’s Crunch Time in the ATC Privatization Battle!

GA groups rally at AirVenture to oppose privatization, 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 24

July 20, 2017 - As the aviation world focuses on EAA AirVenture Oshkosh next week, EAA’s advocacy focus remains on the enormous threat of the air traffic control privatization proposal contained in the 21st Century AIRR Act (H.R. 2997), currently in the House of Representatives. Keep calling your representatives to urge their opposition to the ATC provisions of that bill, as airlines and moneyed special interests are pushing very hard to grab control of the air traffic system from the American public. Your lawmakers need to know that this issue is about the continued freedom of flight.

TAKE ACTION

Calling the toll-free number at (855) 265-9002 will connect you directly to your lawmaker’s office. Phone calls are more effective than e-mails, so act now. In addition, you can go to EAA's Rally Congress tool to send an e-mail or to find the local office of you representative.

When you’re at Oshkosh: We urge everyone to attend a town-hall discussion on the ATC privatization threat and what it means to the grassroots aviator on Monday, July 24, at 11:30 a.m. at Theater in the Woods. EAA CEO and Chairman of the Board Jack J. Pelton will be joined by leaders from AOPA, The General Aviation Manufacturer’s Association (GAMA), and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) to talk about the devastating threat this bill poses to general aviation.

Information on the dangers of ATC privatization will also be available in the AirVenture Today newspaper available on the grounds.

At AirVenture, you may be approached by volunteers in red “Modernize NOT Privatize” shirts, who are helping attendees easily connect with their lawmakers while they’re at Oshkosh. Please avail yourself of their services to help you call your representative right from the AirVenture grounds.
