Celebrating Chapter 17’s 60th Anniversary
September 15, 2016 - On Saturday, September 10, EAA Chairman and CEO Jack Pelton spoke at EAA Chapter 17’s banquet luncheon celebrating the 60th anniversary of their charter. Chapter 17, based in Knoxville, Tennessee, was formed in 1956 by founding president James “Hap” Wilson. Current president George Douglas provided a summary of this vibrant chapter’s activities over the past year, before turning things over to Pelton, whose speech was followed by a lively Q&A. Joining Pelton at the banquet were Rick Larsen, EAA’s vice president of communities and member programs; Sean Elliot, vice president of advocacy and safety; Jim Busha, director of publications; and Hal Bryan, senior editor. All of us at EAA extend our sincere congratulations and thanks to Chapter 17 on reaching this remarkable milestone.
